Battling the Flooded Path is a documentary photography series by Bangladeshi photographer and visual journalist Muhammad Amdad Hossain, documenting the devastating impact of recurring floods on vulnerable communities in Bangladesh. Driven by intense monsoon rainfall and upstream water surges, flooding submerges homes, roads, farmlands, and essential infrastructure, forcing families to flee their homes and navigate dangerous, waterlogged surroundings. Through intimate photographs of displacement, rescue efforts, disrupted daily life, and the struggle to access safe drinking water and basic sanitation, the series reveals the human consequences of climate-related disasters. Focusing on the experiences of affected communities, the project explores poverty, environmental vulnerability, and the resilience of people confronting repeated cycles of destruction. Created through documentary photography and visual storytelling, Battling the Flooded Path brings international attention to the ongoing flood crisis in Bangladesh and the urgent challenges faced by communities living on the front lines of climate change.
